A Little About Me
Science has always been a big part of my life—probably to my mom’s dismay! As a kid, I was that child, constantly bringing home all sorts of wildlife (frogs, bugs, maybe the occasional snake…) in the name of “science.” This love for nature led me to a career as a wildlife biologist, specializing in ungulates (a fancy way of saying hooved animals like deer, moose, and elk).
However, life threw a curveball when the economy in BC shifted. I had to make a choice: leave Canada to continue working with wildlife or dive into something new. My passion for science (and probably a little curiosity about how much chaos I could bring to a classroom) led me to teaching. I earned my education degree from the University of Saskatchewan and eventually landed in Wainwright, where I now get to share my love for science with my students.
I still geek out over the latest scientific discoveries and hope to inspire my students to stay curious, ask big questions, and explore the world with wonder!
