Green Certificate

The Green Certificate program is an apprenticeship-style training program in the agriculture industry.  Alberta Agriculture, Food & Rural Development (AAFRD) works in partnership with Alberta Education (via Off-Campus programming) to offer this program.

Under the guidance of a trainer, trainees (high-school students) select one of eleven specializations (link below) and work towards mastering all required skills.  Students who complete a specialization will earn the technician level Green Certificate, issued by AAFRD.
