Janet Flynn

My name is Janet Flynn. I can be reached at janet.flynn@btps.ca.  I am a returning Social Emotional Coach (SEC) for Wainwright High School, Wainwright Elementary School, and Irma School. I have a BAIS from the University of Manitoba, a Community Services Diploma working with people with addictions, a Lay Pastoral Ministry Formation Program certification, and I am currently in a Master of Counselling Course through City University. I am a retired Canadian Armed Forces member of 30+ years, and our family loves being here in Wainwright. My husband, Brian, is still serving, a 34-year member of the CAF, and we have two kids, Jenna and Dawson. We are a blended family. My Stepdaughter Jenna and her husband- Matt, who work with Industrial Transportation in Kitimat, BC, are the parents of Brinley and Henry (we are proud grandparents!). Our son Dawson graduated in 2022; he is a student at Lakeland College in the Service Automotive trade and has played football with the CJFL Edmonton Wildcats for the last three years. My husband and I live here in Wainwright near Bevan's Park and enjoy walking our houseful of pets there. We are active with the WDMFA (football organization) and volunteer as much as possible in the community. Brian can regularly be seen on the WHS football field caring for the field and in the "Football Doghouse" caring for the equipment.  I love reading, camping, photography and talking with students.
